11 Months Old

Jace is 11 months old!
What's new:

He is doing naps a lot better now

He is saying daddy, Baby and sometimes other words like grandpa and ball.

He is no longer nursing, and soon will not need formula anymore. Wahoo!

He's a really good eater. He will eat almost anything we give him. Spicy or Sour, it doesn't matter. (except for cooked carrots, they make him gag)

He is walking if he can hold one of our hands. And has walked across our living room on his own a few times.

He also likes doing what mom doesn't want him to. If we're outside on the playground he'll choose a different slide than I suggest to go down. Or if I say come here a lot of times he won't, which he used to.

He's a little explorer and has tried to escape the playground several times.

He's recognizing people more and more.

He loves pushing cars and other things with wheels around.

He's becoming defined as a boy more and more.

He loves taking things in and out of places.

And his mom is still his favorite (For now) :)

And he gives really good hugs (Especially right before bed)

And his mom can't believe he'll be one next month. . . :S Mixed emotions.

Love you Jace Boy!

I look up to...

So I've been thinking a lot about people I truly look up to and want to end up like. And I definitely think it has changed through the years. In middle school, it was the kids in high school, in high school it was those in college, in college it was those who were married. And now that I'm married and have a kid I've been kind of confused on who I really look up to and want to be like. Part of me wanted to go back and be that fit high school girl I used to be (without post pregnancy stretch marks), or like those ideal wives and families you see on TV. But it just wasn't a fulfilling want and it has just wore me out and depressed me.
BUT lately I think I have finally found others to really look up to and it has been so relieving to let go of the ideal worldly way I have been wanting to be. Now I want to be like those people who have really sacrificed their life in service and in selflessness.
So I look up to anyone who is striving to do their best in hard circumstances. I look up to my parents cause I know what they have gone through in their lives to get where they are. And I particularly look up to the Elderly. Think about it! THEY HAVE MADE IT! President Hinckley and His Wife. They deserve a round of applause. So in conclusion, I want to be like those who are living and have lived an honorable life. They are the real idols.

BYU Grad

Joe graduated from BYU with a BS in Physiology and Developmental Biology. He's glad to finally be done! However, we do have some mixed feelings about leaving BYU and entering the real world. I'm sure we will love it, just a lot of unknown.

Joe got to walk with his sister.

Our little family
My mom brought this hat from her preschool for Jace to wear. So cute

My sister showed up after graduation and saw Jace wearing this hat and asked if those were the actual graduation hats. haha. "Did BYU have a budget cut? Didn't know the economy was that bad." :)

Wymount BF's

So I really wanted to post some pictures of some of Jace's little friends in the ward. And they really are friends! even though sometimes they hit each other on the head, and bug each other, they get excited to see each other too. I will be very sad to move out this summer. And I think Jace will miss seeing his little friends. Also, there are more friends in the ward but these are the pictures I have, I'm terrible about remembering to take pictures. Just so you know that we LOVE those of you whose picture I have yet to take.

Cute Katelyn (Also, sorry if I spell your kids name wrong)

Little Ruby and Elijah. So sweet.

Jace and Taylee playing nicely. We didn't even have to referee :)

And little Laneah from across the way :)

So Cute. I'm so glad to have such great friends. I may be adding to this post when I get more pictures :)

Eggciting Easter Weekend :)

To explain the title of this post... My sister and I had a fun time putting the word Egg in every word we could this weekend. I know, pretty dorky but we had fun. So we went to my parents house for Easter this year and had a lot of fun. Jace got to interact with his cousins and we ate a lot of good food. Here are some pictures of our time in B-town.

We had a Easter Egg Hunt with all the grandkids.

My mom has these miniture benches outside that Jace liked to sit on.

So this was Jace's bag. I thought it was cute because it apparently started out as somebody else's but it wasn't good enough, so one of the kids decided to make it Jace's by taping his name on it. And check out the spelling. So funny and cute.

Sitting with Grandpa

This is what Jace got from the Easter bunny. He mostly just pushes it and trys to play with the buttons.

And this drooling picture is to show off his new teeth. He has 2 on bottom and a little stub on top, with the the other top one coming in as we speak. Which equals a pretty unhappy boy. Poor thing.
