This is the time. . .WAKE UP!

I want to share something with all of you. These past couple of months I have been really trying and searching to find the deep meaning of motherhood and being a wife. Now don't get me wrong I love my husband and baby very much and enjoy them emensley! But I was searching to find where the true joy lies in being a mom and wife in the home every single day... Sometimes (a lot of the time) it is very tedious and repetitive. It can be exhausting and mind numbing. And my days are fairly predictable. I wake up to....

Jace crying

Change his clothes and his diaper

Feed him breakfast

Get myself ready

I Eat breakfast

Entertain Jace

Put Jace down for his first nap

Do the dishes/Straighten up

Change Jace's Diaper

Feed him lunch

Play with him...

Put him down for his second nap

Read/finish cleaning...

Give Jace bath

Read scriptures with him

put him to bed

Joe gets home

(You get my drift)

So I find myself looking forward to 8 P.M when I can put Jace down and finally relax. Then Joe comes home and I am anxious to talk to him and be with him and sometimes he will but often times he has homework and wants to relax in a guy kind of way before bed. Which is all fine... I just find myself repeating this day (some variations of course) and find myself wanting a more exciting life. But then I was driving home from working out one day and I heard the song "This is the time of my life" By David Cook. And broke down right there. And it hit me! I imediately came home and started looking at pictures of all of us and our different times and found myself laughing and eventually crying and realizing THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE! And I am day dreaming about other unimportant stuff. Wake up sister! It's right in front of you! The greatest gifts you could ever have are right here! And it breaks my heart to think that I take these small but great moments for grantite. And now I know probably some of you are thinking, girl what's your deal? And others are relating with me, either way I am grateful to be reminded.

Anyway, after my heart felt cry and listening to that song a few more times I decided to make this movie so that when I start to feel as I did before, I have something to remind me of the many blessings which my heavenly father has blessed me with. And I am so very blessed! He has been so paitent with me and continues to be... And I thank him for it. :)

What do you feed an 8 Month old?

Jace is 8 months. And I am wondering what new foods I can introduce him to at 8 months? Or if there are any new foods? Juice? Water? Pasta's? meats? I dont know a thing. He is now eating cereal, gerber baby food, small pieces of bread, puffs and formula/breastmilk. Anything you're feeding your 8 month old? Would love your input!

8 Months old and Loving life

My little Jace is 8 Months old! It's crazy how fast he is growing especially since he has started crawling and getting into everything. Anyway, here's what Jace is up to these days...
~He obviously, as stated, is crawling all over the place
~His favorite place to be in is either the pantry or the bathroom (Both weird places but new to him)
~ He loves to crawl under chairs and often gets stuck. I'm always getting him out from under chairs.

~He is pulling himself up on his knees (not quite his feet)
~He loves baths even more that he can get around the bath tub.

~He says "mamama" and "dadada" I know that he knows who dada is but I'm not sure the mamama is related to anything, haha. We're working on that one
~He loves to dance! He bounces up and down to any music and almost anything, even the dishwasher.
~We recently have introduced small pieces of bread and those puff treats. And he loves them! He still doesn't put them in his mouth himself, but I'm okay with that, because that also means he doesn't put stuff on the floor in his mouth yet either.
~He puts himself to sleep! Which is so nice! However he still wakes up once a night.
~He loves to be outside. Especially when the weather is nice I can just let him crawl around and play with things while I read a book. It's great!
~ He's the biggest flirt on the block. He flirts with all the baby girls in the ward. And they now come up to him. It's so funny. He just smiles, jumps and coos for them and they just smile back. It's a crack up to watch.
~ So he used to be a complete mama's boy but now I can see a greater attachment happening with dad. He loves his dad and loves to climb on top of him.
There you have it folks, that's.... Mr. JAAAACCCE
(haha) :)

Jace que se Arrastra

Or Jace is Crawling! I think that's how you say it in spanish. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me. He started scooting with a little crawling a few weeks ago, but this past week he got it down. He gets into everything! Haha. His world has opened up and he loves to explore, which means our apartment is 3 times messier at the end of the day. Which also means I really need to baby proof this apt. Yes, for all you mothers who baby proofed your house the day your baby was born, I still have not. Don't judge me :)

Growl Face or Smile? Not Sure...

Jace was making a whole bunch of funny faces so I just kept taking pictures... However I'm not sure if he's trying to smile in a couple of them or do his growl face. Probably both. He's becoming a real character! :)

Who likes hair cuts? Not Jace :)

We gave Jace his first hair cut because it was starting to get a little long on the sides and on top. And he HATED it! It took us forever to do it and he was like shaking and screaming through the whole thing. I felt so bad. He didn't want me to put him down the rest of the day. So I just held and comforted him. Next time we will just skip the buzzer and go with the scissors!

Before

During

After

So this picture is random. I was trying to take after pictures and every time I was taking them he kept reacting to the flash. So here is one of the "flash reacting" ones that I thought was so funny.

6 Months

This post is a little late, being that in 10 days he'll be 7 months. But some things that he is doing right now...
-He loves to play Peek A Boo! It's his favorite game.
-With that he loves games! He loves watching us doing something funny and then he tries to copy what we do. It's so funny. Lately he has been doing what we call the "dinosaur" where we shake our head and make this kind of growl sound. And he does it back. It's so fun to watch him learn.
-He's getting really good at scooting all over the place. Especially pushing himself backwards.
-He likes to get in the crawling position for about 2 seconds before he boosts himself forward and lands on his tummy. And sometimes he'll only do his legs so he just has his liitle bumb in the air. It's really cute.
-He's basically sits up, however he still falls over sometimes when he goes to reach for something or if he gets frustrated.
-He loves this jumper thing we got from my sister. And now likes to try jumping when he's in our arms.
-You can tell he's watching us more carefully as he is learning things. He's a thinker! There will be times when I try to interact with him but you can tell he's in deep thought and is like, mom not now.
-He's also getting more attached to us and is growing through a little more separation anxiety. I think my favorite is when he reaches out for me to hold him or get him back from somebody. It makes me feel so loved.
-He loves to talk and sing still. His sounds are getting a little more complex as he tries them out.
-He's eating more solid food.
-We've also started doing the crying it out thing a little more at bed time and nap time. Wow! It's so nice! He's getting better at putting himself to sleep with almost no crying. And he sleeps better because of it. It's nice.
So that's my Mr. Jace at 6 months.
I love spending time with him, he just gets more and more fun. He makes us laugh all the time. :)
